Readers' rides: CB650 by Garage Italiano

This lovely street-tracker comes from Ivan Farina who commissioned his project to Garage Italiano from Arbizzano (Verona). The donor bike is a 1979 Honda CB650 and the Garage's guys made the Ivan’s dream come true, thanks to their skills and professional advice. More pics and the story in the rest of this article.

Questa bella street-tracker viene da Ivan Farina che ha affidato il progetto a Garage Italiano di Arbizzano (Verona). "In the last sixteen years I had several bikes, but no one remained stock. - Ivan says - The bike must be like a suit, it should fit to you and must reflect yourself in the various ages of your life. That’s why I owned Harley, Ducati.. And even now I own a Triumph other than this 1979 Honda CB650. I am fascinated by the seventies, because I was born in 1976 and because in those years everything was growing, with a greater confidence, less control and perhaps the desire to make things happen! There should be the same spirit nowadays! I decided to buy a motorcycle from the 70’s and to keep it close to me: what a better logo than the 76 of the Californian oil company that we can still see in the seventies’ movies. It 's nice to own something old but new!"

Ivan racconta: "Sono 16 anni che ho moto e mai nessuna è rimasta originale; la moto deve essere come un vestito, devi sentirtela addosso e deve rispecchiare te stesso nelle varie fasi della tua vita. Per questo ho avuto Harley, Ducati, tutt'oggi una Triumph ed ora anche questa Honda CB650 del '79. Sono affascinato dagli anni 70, un po' perchè sono nato nel 1976, un po' perchè erano anni dove tutto si sviluppava, con maggiore serenità, minor controllo e forse un sacco di voglia di fare! Dovrebbe esserci la stessa voglia oggi di ricominciare!!! Ho deciso di comprare una moto di quegli anni e di avvicinarla a me: e quale miglior simbolo se non il 76 della compagnia petrolifera californiana che si rivede nei film dell'epoca. E' bello avere qualcosa di vecchio ma nuovo!!! "
